I designed the mural in 1997 for the side of what was then Book City Paradise on 33rd and Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard in Portland, Oregon. It was a community project and involved many voluntary hands in its creation. Over the years it has been tagged and retouched by others, but the original images remain amazingly intact – the colors are still vibrant. I used high quality One-Shot oil-based sign painters’ enamel for durability. My thanks to all the people who have photographed the mural and enjoyed it.
